Lille wins Ligue1 from PSG. Lille won the 2020-21 Ligue 1 season on the last day, edging off Paris Saint-Germain for the first time since 2011.

Aside from the title race, there was drama as many clubs competed for European slots and escaped relegation.

That is how it all went down.

Angers 1-2 Lille

Scorers: Fulgini 90+2′; David 10′, Yılmaz (P) 45+1′

Lille took an early lead thanks to a goal from Canadian international Jonathan David on their first attempt at the game.

David brought down in the box just before halftime, and Burak Yilmaz converted from the penalty spot to make it 2-0.

Angers’ Angelo Fulgini pulled a goal back in stoppage time, but Lille’s first-half performance was enough to earn their fourth Ligue 1 title.

Brest 0-2 Paris Saint-Germain

Scorers: Faivre (OG) 37′; Mbappé 71′

The first half featured a back-and-forth battle between Brest and Paris Saint-Germain. The visitors had the finest chance when Neymar went up for a penalty, but he missed it wide.

A corner from Angel Di Mara rebounded off Romain Faivre just before halftime to give PSG the lead.

Brest had a great chance to equalize after the break, but Keylor Navas stopped the bullet header. Following that, Kylian Mbappé went on the attack and made it 2-0.

Despite the victory, Mauricio Pochettino’s side is still one point short of the title.

Lens 0-0 Monaco

Scorers: N/A

Monaco was on the attack in the first half and felt they had taken the lead, but the goal overruled.

With 19 shots, the visitors maintained control of the game, but only three of them were on target. Wissam Ben Yedder, in particular, saw an opportunity pass him by.

Despite the draw, Monaco remained in third place in the Champions League, ahead of Lyon.

Lyon 2-3 Nice

Scorers: Toko Ekambi 14′, 40′; Dolberg 27′, Kamara 50′, Saliba 57′

Despite a goal by Nice’s Kasper Dolberg, Lyon moved above Monaco into the third Champions League slot thanks to a brace from Karl Toko Ekambi in the first half.

However, goals from Hassane Kamara and William Saliba turned the tie around after the break as Nice pulled off a comeback victory.

Lyon will join Marseille in the Europa League next season due to the result, while Nice will finish ninth.

What a season it’s been thus far. Lille wins Ligue1 from PSG.
