Lewandowski to get a new experience this summer. Liverpool has reportedly entered the hunt to recruit Robert Lewandowski, who Real Madrid and PSG also want.
The fight to recruit Bayern Munich’s Robert Lewandowski in the summer transfer window is heating up, according to a report by French daily L’Equipe. Liverpool has become the latest club to sign the prolific Polish forward. Also being pursued by Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.
Since joining Borussia Dortmund over a decade ago, Lewandowski has established himself as one of the top players of his generation in the Bundesliga. However, after his move to Bayern Munich in 2014, the 32-year-old took his career to the next level, scoring 293 goals and assisting 65 times in 328 games for the Bavarian giants.
Lewandowski has set many records along the road, including equaling Gerd Muller’s incredible record of 40 goals in a single Bundesliga season with a goal against SC Freiburg this past weekend. While he will have the record to himself this weekend, his future at the Allianz Arena is suddenly questionable. Causing Real Madrid and Liverpool to become concerned.
Real Madrid has had a long-standing interest in Lewandowski and has attempted to sign him on several occasions.
Even though he is on the wrong side of 30, the persistent interest in the 32-year-old is understandable heading into this summer. Given how reliant Los Blancos have been on Karim Benzema’s returns in recent years.
Lewandowski to leave Bayern
Real Madrid will have one of the game’s most clinical strikers in Lewandowski, though it will be interesting to see how the Merengues will manage to squeeze both the Pole and Benzema into one side. Liverpool’s enthusiasm for the experienced forward is more straightforward.
With Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane failing to provide adequate support for Mohamed Salah in the current campaign. It’s easy to see why Jurgen Klopp would be looking for a new attacker. Who can not only score important goals but do so every week? To that aim, Liverpool is looking for an attacking reinforcement, with Lewandowski being a possible target.
However, Liverpool and Real Madrid aren’t the only clubs interested in signing Lewandowski. With PSG keeping a close eye on his status at Bayern Munich with the uncertainty surrounding Kylian Mbappe’s future.
Meanwhile, the Polish international has connected with Manchester City and Chelsea. It will be intriguing to see if any of the suitors can sweep him away from Bayern Munich this summer. Lewandowski to get a new experience this summer.
