Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said that Fifa has retrait from canceling an award “The Best”at the end of this year.

Bayern officials had expressed their displeasure at the announcement by “France Football” magazine to cancel this year’s Ballon d’Or ceremony,

believing that the Polish forward Robert Lewandowski, Bayern striker, was the closest to it.

Although FIFA announced earlier the cancellation of its annual concert, which was scheduled to take place next September,

Rummenigge confirmed in statements to the Kicker newspaper that ” the Best” awards will be held this year.

Rummenigge said.

“According to what FIFA president Gianni Infantino told me, the best player awards ceremony will be held this year,

and the best player and best coach awards will be presented, and this is very welcome,” Rummenigge said.

Rummenigge believes that canceling the award this year will spoil its traditions,

preventing people from going back years to see the winners in previous years, without seeing the crowned year 2020.

W hen asked if Lewandowski would be crowned, he replied,

“I think Robert Lewandowski is playing a fantastic season and he may have had the best season of his career,”

Continues the double Ballon d’Or (1980, 1981), which obviously has in mind to see the Polish striker lift the trophy.

Unfortunately, France Football canceled the Ballon d’Or, we are not very happy and in the end it is not very fair,

not only Bayern but also for Robert Lewandowski who could have won. “

This season Robert Lewandowski has won the Bundesliga and the German Cup,

possibly awaiting the Champions League and the European Golden Boot with 34 goals scored in the league.

Rummenigge also contradicts France Football, which, in its press release, denounced a lack of fairness in thinking of the championships which did not come to an end.

Lewandowski is the Europe’s top scorer this season, after scoring 54 goals in 45 matches in all competitions, including 14 in the Champions League.
