Suarez’s successor : depay
Dutch press reports revealed on Tuesday that Fc Barcelona has reached an agreement with French club Lyon to include its jewel Memphis Depay to succeed Luis Suarez
The Barcelona team has suffered since last season on the offensive level,
and searched in more than one direction for the successor of the veteran Uruguayan international striker Luis Suarez,
but did not succeed in resolving the deal of any of the players who sought to succeed them,
led by The Argentine Lautaro Martínez, striker of Inter Milan Italian team.
To make matters worse this season, the Dutchman Ronald Koeman, the team’s new coach,
excluded Luis Suarez from his calculations and informed him that he has no place in the team this season,
which increases the crisis of the team in the no.9 position, especially in light of the club’s away from the resolution of the deal of Lautaro significantly,
in light of the financial crisis suffered by the impact of the Coronavirus.
It seems that Barcelona has settled on the new successor to Suarez after dutch reports revealed on Tuesday morning that he reached an agreement with Dutch striker Memphis Depay,
the striker of The French team Leon and that the deal is expected to be announced this week,
after putting the last frills on them between FC Barcelona and Olympique Lyonne of France.
The Dutch newspaper “De Telegraph” said in a report today that Memphis Depay, born on February 13, 1994,
and now 26 years old, will be a player in the ranks of Barcelona this week,
and that Barcelona will pay his club Lyon, French, 25 million euros to get the signing of the player,
in addition to another five million as variables.
This comes at a time when sources within FC Barcelona admitted that the signing with the former Player of the English Team Manchester United,
is imminent, but some things are agreed definitively between the two clubs now,
and Barcelona is looking to save in exchange for the deal.
Memphis Depay’s preferred option for Ronald Koeman in Barcelona attack
Memphis Depay is well received by Ronald Koeman, the Barcelona manager,
who was the first to call him to the Dutch national team when Koeman was coach of the Orange Mill, before moving last month to coach Barcelona,
instead of Kiki Setin, who was sacked following the Bayern Munich scandal in the Champions League.
Depay (who prefers to be called Memphis because his father gave him his first title abandoned him as a child) had another year’s contract with Olympique Lyonne,
but the strong relationship between Barcelona and Lyon throughout history contributed to the termination of the deal.
Sources in Barcelona admitted on Monday that the arrival of The Argentine Lautaro to Camp Nou,
was very difficult as Inter Milan officials asked for an amount of 80 to 90 million euros, at least to resolve the deal.
Memphis Depay, who has been in the spotlight for the past season, starred with Olympique Lyonne, having led the French team to the Golden Box of the Champions League,
and toppled more than one large team and a candidate to win the title during his career,
and at the head of these clubs Italian giant Juventus.
