Chelsea coach Frank Lampard announced the absence of the new trio
between the ranks of the Blues Hakim Ziyech, Ben Chilwell and Thiago Silva
in the Premier League opener.
Chelsea will visit Brighton next Monday, at Falmer Stadium, in the first
round of the Premier League, which will start on September 12th.
During the match press conference, Lampard confirmed that Ziash
and Ben Chilwell would be absent from the Brighton match.
The Chelsea coach said: “Thiago Silva has not trained with the team yet, and therefore he will also miss the match.”
And he continued, “Ziyash (who suffered a knee injury) may return to the team within two weeks,
while Ben Chilwell is still raising his fitness levels and therefore the two will not be with us.”
When asked about new deals, he said: “We have achieved what we wanted to do. We hope we have done it well.”
And about the contract with goalkeeper Eduard Mindy, French goalkeeper, Lampard replied: “Mindy is Rennes at the moment, so it is not right for me to talk about him at this moment.”
It is worth noting that Chelsea concluded several deals during the current summer transfer period, as he contracted with Hakim Ziyech (Ajax),
Timo Werner (Leipzig), Kai Havertz (Bayer Leverkusen), Ben Chilwell (Leicester City),
